I have been feeling an incredible urge to get out of the area for a weekend. We haven't gone "away" all summer and with winter weather looming in, it's now or never....
So, last weekend, we decided to pack up and head to southern New Hampshire for the weekend to visit my brother Rob and his wife Jan.
We had a great time! Saturday we went to a beach in Portsmouth. It was incredibly breezy and really chilly, but we still had a great time walking along the sand. Aiden has been to the ocean once before when he was just a little over one...so, pretty much, this was like his first visit to the ocean! He was amazed at the size and even more amazed by the waves. He would stand at the edge of the water and then run back as a wave would come crashing forward so as not to get his feet wet!
It was low tide when we were there so the entire jeti into the water was uncovered. Rob and Aiden searched for snails and shells on the rocks!
After the beach, we headed into the town of Portsmouth and walked around. Its a beautiful little town with great shopping and good places to eat!
At Rob's home, he recently got a free pool table off craigslist, so we spent some time shooting pool and visiting. He cooked us a great dinner Saturday night and made some killer pancakes Sunday morning! Rob and Jan treated us well while we there!
It was nice to get out of this area for the weekend and even better to see my brother and Jan. Obviously, we don't get to see them too often so it's always a treat!
I think my urge has been cured!

Sounds like you guys had a great time! We missed you at the party, but I probably would have been tempted to go visit the ocean as well..I love the ocean in the fall. :-)
